Get To Know Zoofunktion
With the Panda Funk Tour hitting Orlando rather quickly (June 11th to be exact), we figured it was about time we shared with you some interesting details on one of the artists that is part of the Panda Fam and joining along side Deorro for this awesome night.
Who is Zoofunktion?
As a Los Angeles native, he has become one of the top up and coming producers in the business. We are sure you have all heard his collab with Deorro “Hype” as it generated buzz from those in the music industry everywhere including Krewella, Hardwell, Steve Aoki and Dillion Francis. Take a listen below!
What’s His Sound?
In a recent interview with The DJ List, Zoofunktion described his sound with three words and three words alone.
- Bouncy
- Funky
- Wild
How Did He Get Started With Panda Funk?
According to that same interview with The DJ List, Zoofunktion participated in a Panda Funk remix contest for the track “Come Over” and received third place. Not too long after this, he received an opportunity to head down to the Panda Funk studios to join in on the team.
What Are His Musical Influences?
We recently read up on an interview with Zoofunktion over at EDM Chicago. Here’s what he had to say about his musical influences outside of the electronic and dance genres.
I am a huge fan of Latin music. As a kid, I grew up listening to a lot of Mariachi, Cumbia & Mexican bands, and that’s where I get most of my percussion ideas.
What is Jungle Terror?
We have been hearing this “Jungle Terror” sound in some of Zoofunktion’s newest music and we were somewhat curious to know more about it. This is a genre that has been hitting the soundwaves hard the past few months. It was created by the Netherlands DJ and producer named Wiwek and combines Dutch House synths, steel drums, tropical bass kicks, jungle noises, monkeys, elephants, birds and any exotic animal sounds in a track. Zoofunktion‘s release of “Everybody Jumping” shows off exactly what you would expect in a Jungle Terror song.
Catch Him on The Panda Funk Orlando Tour!
We think think it’s pretty awesome that Deorro is keeping to what he set out for Panda Funk to be from the beginning. Bringing together talented, underrated artists and sharing their music with the electronic dance music world. Catch Deorro, Zoofunktion, Dirty Audio and IEZ at Venue 578 for an incredible show on June 11th!
